BLOG HOP for IFS - 1st Birthday!!

To celebrate the blog's 1st birthday, we are doing a few fun things this week! Can you believe that IFS is 1?? It just seems like I started it a few months ago... I owe a huge thanks for the regular contributors, featured artists, and those who have submitted pages to be featured for making this blog GREAT and WONDERFUL!! So, a huge thank you to all of those who made this blog what it is today! Check back later in the week for three contributor appreciation days where I will be honoring the wonderful contributing artists!

Today will be a blog hop featuring favorite things from Ideas For Scrapbookers. I hope you will participate and have fun going from blog to blog ... and don't forget about the RAK giveaways!! Well, to start out the hop, I am going to feature my favorite aspects about the blog! Everything we do is really my favorite, but here are some highlights, I wanted to share just a few!
1. One of my favorite things is Reader's Pages b/c I love getting pages that people have created using inspiration or templates from the blogs!
2. I love every Wednesday when the contributors send me their themed page for a Designer Showcase post! I makes me so happy to see what they have created!
3. I adore having Featured Artist every Friday! There are stellar ideas by so many designers!
4. I am so happy about how many amazing Technique Tutorials the contributing and featured artists have put together! You can see this updated list here.
5. I love sharing Templates with everyone and a few of the contributors have shared their templates with us as well.


Now it's time to see how you can get in on the TWO awesome RAKs! To be qualified to win, please either leave a comment with your two answers or email them to scrappingpam73@yahoo.com . 1. The first RAK will be a $25 gift certificate to scrapbook.com! What you need to do is try to figure out how many VISITS we have had to the blog in one year. Remember when I say visits, I mean the the same person could come each day and that would count as 365 visits. I will give you a hint... it is between 50,000 and 100,000. :) The closest person will win.
2. The second RAK will be a Wishlist Fulfillment up to $30 at scrapbook.com. If you win, you will put a whole bunch of things you want on your wish list (at scrapbook.com) and a package will arrive at your door with some of the goodies you really want! To be entered to win please answer the following questions. Under "Links to Pam's Specific Templates" (see list on right-hand side bar), which one do you think is my favorite? Remember this is just from the templates I have made not the contributor's templates.The person who guesses right will win. If there are multiple people, I will randomly pick one person to win. Scraptastic Sketch Challenge!

I'm on the design team at Scraptastic Club, and Jessica (the owner) offered to let me host a contest for one of her kits here on the Ideas for Scrapbookers blog! I bet you've already guessed that it will involve one of my sketches... You're right!

Contest rules: Use the sketch below to create a paper layout. Feel free to rotate it or change it a bit to fit your needs. Reader's Pages + contest at GCD Studios!

Hello everyone! Happy Monday, I just got back from vacation this past weekend! :)

I am sharing two reader's pages by Aimee! She created two fabulous pages to share. You can see more of Aimee's work on her blog here: http://optimisticscrappiness.blogspot.com/.

The first page I am sharing by Aimee was inspired by the Circle Punch Folding Demo post. You can see it here. Aimee did an amazing job using this technique! Check this out neat page!



The next page by Aimee is using lace paper just like the post by Dolores about using lace papers. You can see her post here. Check out how cool page is! This is what Aimee had to say about her page, "I used lace paper as a mask and sponge painted yellow acrylic paint over the top. Now I have a piece of yellow lace paper to use in a different project."

CONTEST WINNERS!!

Today I am announcing the "Scraplift the Contributors" winners. We got so many beautiful pages both via scrapbook.com and my email! It was hard for the contributors to choose their favorites ... here are the winners!

Thankful Journaling Challenge plus $25 GC to winner!

Happy Thursday, everyone! Hope everyone has enjoyed all of our previous posts!

To get rolling, all of the contributing artists decided to come up with a fun challenge for everyone. It's a pretty simple one, so hopefully you'll be able to join us for this one!

CHALLENGE: Use the theme "thankful" + creatively journal on your page!

Pretty easy, right?! Get creative with it! We want to see your work. The winner to this challenge gets a $25 gift certificate to scrapbook.com! :)

Here's my take on this challenge:



...and some tips and ideas to get creative with your journaling:

1. Get creative with your journaling by writing around the border of your photo. It creates a unique border frame! That's what I did in my "So Thankful for Them" layout. :)

2. Get creative with your journaling by writing/typing on your photo! It adds a wonderful touch. Check out what Susan did:


3. Get creative with your journaling by using a looooooooooooong title. Your title can then act as journaling as well. Check out what Julie did:



4. Get creative with your journaling by adding different journaling blocks. This helps captivate the significance of each photo. Check out what Heather did:

As I have mentioned before, Heidi Sonboul is a wonderful, dear friend of mine! She is also the GCD Studios design team coordinator! GCD makes the most delightful products. The colors and detailing of the paper and embellishments are so beautiful! Some even come glittered and foiled, how cool is that?
