More Layout with Shapes & New Stuff

Hey all. Pam here. It's been a while since I shared on this blog. First, something I am totally excited about, is to share the new Chickaniddy Collections (after that I will share my latest projects!)..One is called Scrumptious and the other is called Jolly Good. Catchy huh? They are both bright, fun and filled with so many GREAT patters!  Here is a photo of each collection kit so you can see the awesome stuff Heidi created. So excited. I will be posting my new projects with Scrumptious on August the 5th!

 

 STARS

Now onto my latest pages! I took a very short break and then I was inspired by things like ads and pinterest. My first page, I scrapped just days after my husband and son earned their orange belts. As you can see below, I went a little wild with the flying stars. I was soooo proud of them!!

HEARTS

My next page features hanging hearts. As you know I LOVE to do pages with hanging hearts. I have done a few before. This photo screamed to me hanging hearts. Don't know why... but here is the result!

CIRCLES

My next page features circles. This is probably my favorite shape to scrap. I love clouds and how they often look like circles over circles. That is how I got the inspiration for my page!

HEXAGONS

The last page I am sharing features hexagons, and a whole bunch of them. Hexagons have been such a fun trend the page few years and I just couldn't resist creating this!

Layered Foil Paper + Sneaks of NEW Chickaniddy Products!

Good morning! This is Pam sharing two things with you this morning. First a special sneak peek of the NEW Chicknaiddy lines coming up!! Second is a project I created! Here is a teaser of the two new collections coming soon. I absolutely am so so excited about this.

 

Now onto my post today...I am going to be sharing one of my favorite techniques: layering die cuts with the foil paper using Chickaniddy patterned paper and foil paper.. I created this layout using the papers that Leigh shared on her card here on the May card sketch. Hers is the second card down. I absolutely love how the patterns on her card look together! I paired those colors (minus the light pink) with some photos I took of my son. I decided to layer some die cut stars together to create my design. Here is my page.

 

As you can see, I layered the stars over one another. I made my design in my Silhouette with two layers in mind, one right over the other. I created a custom design where I put a series of larger stars with smaller stars in the middle. I die cut the larger stars out of the white cardstock. I used the negative of that. Next, I die cut the smaller stars into the gold foil paper. Again I used the negative of that. I layered those pieces of cardstock together and they fit perfectly. Underneath the negative of the gold die cut paper I adhered various patterned papers. You can how I created it here.

   

 I stitched over some of the gold foil stars and put stickers in a few of them. All I needed to do was to embellish my page a bit more with brads and cut out word sentiments and I was done. One Collection, Two Different Looking Pages

Hey all. It's Pam and I am sharing two pages which are completely different but use the same collection. I really like the versatile patterns and color in the Twirly Girly collection by Chickaniddy Crafts. The possibilities are endless! You will see below how different my pages look.

My first page is of my friend's little girl. When I saw these photos I took, I envisioned butterflies and fun banners. Thus I created this page. I used a technique which I use often on my pages which is having a slight space between shape and the paper it is near. Check my layout below to see what I am talking about.

  Here is how I achieved this look! First, I cut out my strips of paper like this.

   

Next, I put the butterfly over my papers. I traced in pencil the outline but with a bit of space like  shown below.

   

The last step is to cut out and adhere to page! You will see that it looks like the butterfly is floating.

On my next page, I scrapped this page of my son (you could also use a photo of a girl for this page). He has such a vibrant personality that I wanted to capture these photos with a burst of sun! I chose mainly four of the Chickaniddy colors for my page: pale yellow, grey, orange, white and a touch of pink. I absolutely love how many grey patterns there are in this collection. That gave me the idea for clouds! I used a piece of patterned grey, yellow, and white to make the sun bursts. I used pop dots on some of the clouds and outlined others with a white pen.

Three Pet Pages Using Same Collection and Free Cutting Files

Hi everyone it's Pam here today sharing three pet pages with you using the brand new Chickaniddy Date Night Collection. This collection is so versatile! I am going to show you how to complete three completely different pet pages using different color combinations and papers. For each page I am going to share with you the color palette in paper form to help you get inspired.

My first page is about my dog, Gabby. She is such a loving, loyal dog. I wanted to capture in a not too girly but still in a sweet way- ya know she is a German Shepherd ;). The Date Night collection has all of the right colors to scrapbook here. I chose a little orange, with touches of mint, florals, and a great brown background.

Here is a close-up of how I did my journaling. I typed it out and put in the right amount of space so the papers and stickers would not overlap the journaling.

As for the color palette I chose, here is the color palette.

For my next page I went with a whole different color palette. I created this fun layout about my dog and snow. It RARELY snows at all here so it is a treat for a dog who grew up mostly in northern Ohio. She just loves to snow even if it is a dusting. For this color palette, you can see I chose brighter colors from the Date Night Collection like the mint green,blues,oranges, and patterned white papers. I even die cut some foil paper with the word "fun". This page was inspired by a layout by Diane Payne here on the Chickaniddy blog!

For my last page, I used the softer, sweeter patterns for a page about my dear cat. Mia is 14 years old but just as beautiful as ever. Her calico fur still looks great. I wanted to include softer muted colors so I would not overpower my photos. I chose the softer oranges, mints, grays and off white patterns. Fun, fresh colors!

Hey all, it's Pam here sharing my latest project. Spring is ALMOST upon us.... finally can you believe it? I am so into scrapping spring color palettes right now. I used Chickaniddy brand new Twirly Girly collection for my page. You will see that along with these fun photos, the colors from the Twirly Girly collection really bring out the mood to the this page. When we moved to TN over a year ago it was very hard to leave friends behind. This page shares when they visited us. It was a great weekend to just hang out and have fun.

In designing this page I wanted something so fun that would show their joy! What better than circles? I cut most of this using my Silhouette. If you want to achieve this look just create different sized circles using your Silhouette or cutting machine. Here is how I went about creating this page:
1. All the big circles are a light gray color.
2. All of the middle circles are plain cardstock
3. Most of the small circles are the color as the outer circle except the have a pattern. Chickaniddy paper was just perfect for this.
4. When combining colors like this, it will take away from being too busy and your photos will really pop!
5. Pick out your patterned papers first to match to the corresponding cardstocks.

Shapes Plus Banners...Plus new cutting File!

Hi everyone!! This is Pam and I am going to be sharing what I have been working on lately. I have been pairing strips of paper (I am calling them banners) with shapes. You will see this with a couple of different layouts I have completed recently. The first page features hearts plus a banners. I created this cutting file in Photoshop and then cut it with my Silhouette in may different sizes. I cut the middle heart out in a different pattern and adhered them to my page. Here is the result: a fun Valentine's page with lots of hearts! (I will be giving this cutting file away soon on this blog, so make sure you come back to get it)

For my next page, you can see I used the same idea, but with stars. I mean, what goes better with Iron Man than some stars representing his power? My son loved his costume so much, I needed something that expressed his enthusiasm for it. Here is my page and digital cutting files after that!

Embrace the snow!

Hi Everyone!

Sharon here today to share some winter pages that I just made this past month. ♥

If you live in North America anywhere near the north-east, you have probably been getting a snow, ice, and freezing rain -  filled winter like we have here in Pennsylvania.   Even the southern states were not spared this winter.  In trying to keep a positive attitude throughout all of this, I attempted to embrace the snow instead of disliking it.  I did it by doing two things that I love to do:  taking lots of photos and scrapping them!

Here are 3 pages that I created using snow filled photos:

To make these pages, I decided to use only things from my stash.  I had beautiful Anne Griffin papers:

and the Prima "Lyric" papers:

I love these collections and both are perfect for my snow photos.  

Next I found some old punches:

and even dusted off my Cricut Expression:

I used one of the cartridges that came with it:

to make the large snowflakes:

Then I added some stamping, inking, and white paint.

and some Stickles for added sparkle:

My Karen Foster star-bursts were calling out to be used:

and some beautiful ScrapFx chipboard pieces:

I ended with a little machine stitching and distressing to finish off the look:

I really had fun using some old stuff from my stash that I had not gotten out in a long time!
