What can you make with ONE sheet of paper?

Sometimes we only have only one sheet of paper left over from a collection or we need a quick card for a last-minute gift. Here is an idea... a pre-loaded gift card holder!

This cute little, self-standing, purse card was made using ONE sheet of double sided Pion Design papers from the "fairytale of Spring" collection including the handmade flower!

I cut a 12x12 inch sheet to have an 8x12 piece and reserved the left-over 4x12 piece for the card holder and to make the flower. I made my folds, cut the top curve and glued the gift holder (faux stitching explained below) with a stamped "happy birthday" saying. There is plenty of space below for a personal hand-written message too!

Next I glued a piece of ribbon to resemble a clutch style purse and added self-adhesive Velcro to keep closed. I also lightly scraped the paper edge with a distressing tool.

Then, I added faux stitching by paper piercing and connecting the holes with a fine scrapbooking marker. This is a nice alternative when you don't have a sewing machine handy or if you're like me... don't ever sew anything at all!

Lastly, with the scraps I made a lily flower using my tutorial and the reverse side of the paper (same as inside the card). Tip: make your flower first and let it dry while you are making the card.

Can you believe this easy card only took me about half an hour to make from start to finish?

Designer Showcase: Father's Day Projects

Hello all, it's Pam here sharing some great father's day ideas. Have you tried creating a card for your dad or husband on father's day? It is a great way save money and get creative. Also don't forget to take lots of photos of that special day! I will be sharing a card and few father's day layout ideas, so get ready for some great inspiration!

Next up we have a layout by Heather! I love how she shares this moment between her husband and her son! And the journaling reflects how her son feels about his dad! What a cool way to document this. Love it!

Vicky is sharing two great father's day pages. The first page is how she feels about her own dad. Love that swirlie as a frame for that photo! The second is a photo of her husband and daughter. These turned out so nice for father's day!!

Use Your Scrapbook Stash Around The House

Good morning, Sara here to give you some new ideas on how to use up your scrapbook stash around your house! I love to take my supplies and find a unique way to showcase a photo or create something beautiful to display in my home. 

Here are few examples (and they are easy!) of things you can create! 

This was a wreath I purchased at the dollar store! I cut out a cardboard circle that fit the size of the wreath. Decorated the circle with papers and embellishments and then hot glued to the back side of the wreath. I also hot glued the other embellishments to the front of the wreath. I tried glue dots but they just were not strong enough.

This is a large Bottle Cap from Maya Road that I put a photo inside and added lots of fun embellishments to! So easy! 

This is a photo frame I have had for a while with a cute saying on it. However the saying really did not fit anymore so I reached for my scrapbooking supplies to give it a 'Face Lift'!  All I used was paper, stickers and pop-dots!

This wall mounted photo frame came with its standard white matting and it looked so 'blah' against my white wall. So I covered the matting with paper, added some photo corners and finished with the velvet embellishments.

These are one of my favotites!  These were a mini album in the shape of a house.  I had so much fun making each house different!  The photos came from a left over photo Christmas card, they were just the right size. I made a little support of cardboard and glued it to back so they would stand up on their own.

Take a look around your house and see what you could add a personal touch to!  Find a fun, crafty and unique way to showcase your photos in your house, not just your albums!

Frosted Pion Flowers

I created a new handmade flower to complement the romantic Pion Design style papers I am working with. What I like about these is that you don't necessarily need to own a paper punch or die cutting machine to create them and they do not get damaged in a scrapbook.

Supplies you will need:

- Three same sized 3-petal flower shapes. I used the Marvy Uchida "Pansy" punch (2-inch)... but see next step if you do not have a punch or die cut like this.

- Water to mist

- Paint: Snow Writer (DecoArt brand), dimensional paint (like Liquid Pearls) or fabric puff paint. A heat gun is required if using fabric paint to make puffy. I used Snow Writer on mine because I love the thick texture (and it is acid-free).

- A decorative centre (mini rose, button, large brad etc.)

- A rounded tip object like a marker or thick pen

- A foam mat (like a computer mouse pad)

- Some liquid glue of choice

If you do not have a 3-petal flower punch or want a different flower size, then use a circle and draw the shape and cut it. As shown below, it is very easy to get a similar shape to my pink punched flower. The pink Tulip Bud paper from Pion Design's Fairytale of Spring collection is featured in this tutorial.

Step 1: Mist your 3 flowers with water and pleat fold your petals (like an accordion).

Step 2: With your rounded pen, press into the middle into a foam mat to form a cup shape. Let completely dry.

Step 3: Once dry, pull the petals open and frost the edges with your paint and let dry.

Step 4: Glue your 3 layers together and while the glue is still wet press entire flower into the foam mat to raise the petals. Let glue completely dry.

Step 5: Add a decorative center. You can also add ink to the painted edges for rustic layouts. I did not for this tutorial.

Five easy steps and you're done! BTW - the custom blue resin button was made by my friend Ivana Camdzic.

Friday Special: Color Scheme!

It's Pam again and I am sharing a color scheme that I put together from my layout that I posted yesterday. I really love the combination of colors, it is almost shabby chic! Here is the color scheme that you can use on your next page if you like! It featured a coral pink, a darker (almost reddish) color pink, teal, light yellow, light aqua, and a muted brown.

 

Here are two examples by me of page using this color scheme! Remember you don't have to use that exact color scheme. Feel free to alter the colors a bit to fit your page. You can even add color to your page if you like ;)

*New* Four Round Photos Template

Well hello and happy Thursday! It's Pam again and I am sharing a brand new template with you all! I really like how this one turned out. When I scrapped my own traditional page design using the sketch, I love how it all came together. Don't forget that both digital and traditional scrappers can use it. If you are a digi scrapper, you can download the template. If you are a traditional scrapper, you can use the template as a sketch as I did in my example on the bottom of the page. Designer Showcase: Enlarged Photos

Hey it's Pam here! :)
The trends change in scrapbooking, but one thing still stays constant ... scrapbooking love to change up the size of their photos! Today I am sharing with you some super ideas for enlarged photo layouts! Take a peek at how well each scrapper used them and what effect it has on the layout!

Dolores is sharing these two gorgeous enlarged photo layout! This is such a pretty effect for each page! Doesn't this give the pages the perfect nature feel ...

Vicky created this fabulous page with one enlarged photo and lots of embellishment! I love this color combo. It is so pretty with the touched of red and black all over the layout! SO pretty!

Nancy created these two amazing pages. I absolutely adore how she used her daughter's face for half of the circle. Brilliant!! The second page shows a moment at the zoo up close and personal.. so cool!

Lisa created this gorgeous page using one large photo and four smaller photo! Don't you love the combo of large and small for this! It looks great!

Lastly, we have a wonderful page by Cathy which is simple yet so amazing! I love how she used the photo and the text on the top and bottom! Such a heartfelt page about her son!
