The Making of a Tombstone

I recently bought the Martha Stewart Halloween scrapbooking papers and they sure are creepy! Love the change from the cute looking bright colors for Halloween.
I seen the tombstones that are part of the collection and so I decided to save a few dollars and make my own….
Making your own is great because you can make any size, color and customize the journaling/font however you like.

First, you need some rectangles. I used two different sizes on my finished layout. Sizes 2 inches and 2.5 inches.
Then you use the corner punch on two of the sides.
It is that easy!

Second, you chalk the edges and playing with different fonts on the computer make the tombstones with whatever sayings you like…there are lots of ideas out there or you can journal on them.

Third, take a bottle of red stickles and make drippings on the top of the tombstones to give it a bloody, creepy look.
Let them dry before placing them on your page.

Here is an example using these homemade tombstones that I hope you will try for this Halloween!
