ScrapFIT Design Team Call

Hi everyone, its Sara here to tell you about a creative opportunity!  I am the owner of the challenge blog ScrapFIT and we are curently have a Design Team Call!

ScrapFIT Design Team Call

August 2011 – January 2012

Submission Deadline – July 2nd

ScrapFIT (www.scrapfit.blogspot.com) is a growing scrapbook challenge blog that will give you a real workout!  We have 2 workouts (challenges) per month and they are sure to push you out of your comfort zone and inspire you to try something new! We are looking for 10 fun and creative designers (aka -FITgirls!) for our next term! 

FITgirl Requirements:

*You must have an active blog
*You must be commit to 2 layouts per month based on our challenges
*A person who enjoys inspiring others
*Someone who is committed and turns in projects on time
*Someone with enthusiasm for ScrapFIT and their challenges and the dedication to help promote ScrapFIT through their own blog and other site they participate in.

What To Expect From ScrapFIT

*Although this is not a paying gig we can help spread the word about your scrapbooking awesomeness! 

*A special FITgirl blinki for your blog

*Your photo, name and link to your personal blog on the main ScrapFIT webpage!

*A great addition to your scrapbook resume

*All of the challenges will be giving to you at the start of your term so that you have plenty of time to work on them when you have the chance.

*A fun and relaxed group to work with.

Friday Special: Two Color Schemes!

Happy Friday all! It's Pam here sharing two new color palettes! I love to create color palettes. There is something so cool about finding colors that look great together. Don't forget when you are using a color palette, you don't have to use the exact colors, feel free to alter them a bit. Also, get adventurous and add another color to mix!!

1. The first color palette is a combination of dark pink, bright pear green, pumpkin orange, light yellow, sky blue and a dark brown! Check out these pages the contributors sent me that are great examples of this color palette.

2. The next color palette features a tangerine orange, sky blue, dark orangish-red, cream, kraft, and a dark brown. See what you can create with this!

Flower Template to Brighten Your Day!

Hey all! It is Pam here sharing a flowery template I created based on one of my pages. The main flower should look familiar! It is flower used on the banner.

Here is a preview of the template and also traditional scrappers feel free to use this as a sketch! :)

 

For digital and hybrid scrappers, please first review how to use clipping masks here if you need to when using template.  Also I linked the flower petals and the background so in case any moved you wouldn't have to figure where it goes.

Inspired By A Sketch

Hi everyone, Sara here with a sketch for you today!  I am not a sketch artist by any means but I was able to hash out this sketch with paper and pencil. Thanks to Pam's talents she was able to make make it look digi-pretty! Thanks Pam!

The girls did an amazing job using this sketch!  Take a peak!

Cathy's layout is a HOME RUN!  I just love her elements! The mini pics are a great way to add a little glimps of action to your layout!

Heather has melted my heart with this layout!  What a great combination of simplicity and color - pure scrappy goodness!  I also think the green in around the outside of the layout is a great touch!

Nancy has yet again added her whimsical elegance to such a simple sketch!  I never thought a layout as lovely as this could come from my sketch! I am amazed by the many textures on this layout, what a great combination!

Here is my creation.  I often find that I have a hard time with a sketch - I cant get past the lines I see. But I was so excited to use this new paper collection Hometown Summer from Pink Paislee!  The little kids are so darn cute!

Hello all, it's Pam sharing a cool thing with you today. On to our "cool stuff" for today! Kerri Powell creates cool word art that you are going to want to check out. It features the perfect words and phrases for cards/pages you make. If you're like me then oftentimes you find yourself at a loss for words when it comes to making the finishing touches on your scrapbook layouts or cards. My digital word art pieces are the perfect solution to that problem! They are simple sayings with a cute message for a variety of occasions. Each digital word art pack is $1.50 and contains 12 png word art pieces. All files are created at 300 dpi and are for personal use and S4H.

Jasmine Flowers

Hi, its Lisa again with another super fast and easy flower that takes less than 5 minutes to make! Now that it is the summer months, I wanted to start making some summer flowers. So here are some Jasmine flowers that you can make quick for this summers, layouts, cards and projects!
It is similar to the oval flower tutorial, but even faster!

Here are the supplies:
Diamond Glaze, yellow or gold brad, white cardstock, small punch or kraft knife, yellow stickles.

First, cut out 5 leaf shapes, about 1.5 inches each.

 

Second, fold them in halves long ways or you can use an embossing tool to make the crease and punch a small hole on the end of one side...if you can try to match all the holes up together...I like to just layer the leaves on top of each other and make one single punch. Third, place a yellow or gold brad in the hole and spread apart...that's it! Super easy and fast!

 

Here is one I added yellow stickles in the center and diamond glaze to give it a wet dew look....totally optional....they look great either way.

June Template Number One

Hi everyone! It's Heather, and I'm here to share my first sketch/template that I created in June. It features one horizontal 4x6 photo and a fun banner embellishment.

Here is my example layout. I created it using the June kit and add on from Scraptastic Club called "Surf's Up". As you can see, I flipped the sketch horizontally to make it work better with my photo.

I asked a few of my friends from the Scraptastic Club design team to help me provide extra examples for this sketch and they totally came through for me! The next two layouts are by Jessica. She used the "Surf's Up" kit and the "Birthday Wishes" kit.

I really love the balloon on her second page. It's so cute. Thank you Jessica for sharing your pages with me!

Next up is Juliann's page! She used the "Birthday Wishes" kit. I really love how she added title work to the birthday cake embellishment.
