Designer Showcase: Paper Piecing Projects!

Have you ever tried paper piecing? It starts out with a pattern (or you can make up your own) and features cutting out elements to use for your image that are "pieced" together. It is usually layered (but now always) and sometimes chalked or inked. There are a ton of great books (and websites) which can give you great patterns to make your project special! Before I share the contributor's projects featuring paper piecing, I am sharing a pattern I made up a few months ago. It is perfect for those car trips or anything related to cars ;) Here you go .. just print and trace!

Now onto examples of different paper piecings. First up we have a beautiful paper piecing by Nancy. She created this absolutely adorable page and paper pieced together that cute owl! I love what a cute touch this is to her page!

Sara created two innovative pages using two different paper piecing! The first layout features a paper pieced cupcake for her cupcake themed page. I love the way she made her own paper cup and used a neat effect to create the top portion of the cupcake.

Sara also created this beautiful paper pieced house (with window and brick!) for her scrapbook page! Check out how realistic her house looks and how well it holds her photo!

Heather created some beautiful paper pieced snowflakes by first cutting them out with her Cricut and them piecing them together! Look at how beautiful this winter page turned out and the snowflakes are that perfect touch!

Cathy created a really cool paper piecing project. She actually paper pieced her own Steelers logo and it looks great for this themed page. I love how she customized her page and made her own paper piecing!

Cathy also created two cool cards with two different paper piecing designs! The first card features a paper pieced snowman. She used punches to create her snowman! This is perfect for all of those wintery days coming up ;)

Her second card is an adorable school bus paper piecing! I love how cute this bus looks and looks so good on the card!

Are you inspired by these designs or have your own paper piecing pages? Send them to me at scrappingpam73@yahoo.com and I will feature your projects!
